Harrow & Hope 2014 Magnums
£90.00 – £125.00
Price is per Magnum
Below is a short explanation of each wine, three of which were released many years ago in 75cl version and one (Blancs de Noirs) that is a true unicorn wine i.e. never been seen before! All have been given 84 months of lees ageing, compared to the 18 to 36 months that the original 75cl versions were given. These are very special bottles that really show the ageing capability and comeplexity of this vineyard site.
Brut Reserve No 3: As with the No 2 this is essentially a vintage wine having been made 100% from 2014 fruit. A much warmer season than 2013 and 2015 it produced wines with more balanced acidity and a softer profile. The extra lees time and magnum ageing effect have provided increased finesse, texture and complexity when compared to the 75cl equivalent. 40% Chardonnay 40% Pinot Noir 20% Pinot Meunier. Only 50 produced. £90/btl (includes gift box)
Brut Rosé 2014: The 75cl version won English Vintage Rosé best in class at the Sparkling Wine World Championships and also paved the way for all future blends of this wine with the increased % of Chardonnay. It also enabled us to sit next to Richard Geoffroy at the awards ceremony who used to make Dom Perignon. Safe to say I asked him A LOT of questions! This now faintly coloured wine has reached a new level of complexity. Recently tasted with Jancis Robinson who gave it 17/20. Her tasting note:
Dense and this seems drier than the 2014 in bottle, disgorged earlier. Long. More intricate than the version in 75-cl bottle tasted alongside. Very pure. Drink 2022 – 2027
30% Chardonnay 45% Pinot Noir 25% Pinot Meunier.
Only 50 produced. £100/btl (includes gift box)
Blanc de Blancs 2014: Again this won Gold at the Sparkling Wine World Championships in what was a wonderful year for Chardonnay. We decided to put more of this wine into magnum because of it’s propensity to age longer, one of the best decisions we’ve ever made!! Stunning wine which we recently tasted with Jancis Robinson (17.5/20). Her Note:
Magnum. I’d love to see this blind with some fancy champagne. Creamy and citrus. Lime again. Sophisticated. Quite a tapestry of flavours. Long, very clean and precise on the finish. Really fine. Drink 2022 – 2028
Only 150 produced. £115/btl (includes gift box)
Blanc de Noirs 2014: A very rare wine indeed. Was never released in 75cl version as we desperately needed the liquid to create our first Rosé NV No 1. A decision we probably regret as we would have loved to have more of this wine. Such a rare object I’ve not even dared have a bottle myself! Drink 2022 – 2027
Only 50 produced. £125/btl (includes gift box)
