Blanc de Noirs 2018 Pre-release
£201.60
Price is for a case of 6 bottles
Unlike the 2015, this release is 100% Pinot Noir. This decision was taken to hone in on one particular part of the vineyard, where clay and chalk combine to give a complete wine, without the need for blending varieties. It takes time to understand your vineyard and what areas consistently give the best results. But our knowledge has come a long way since the early years.
What is noticeable about this wine is how elegant, restrained and fresh it is, despite coming from such a hot year. It certainly has a softness that gives a hint of it’s birth year, but the acid is still evident giving me great confidence in it’s long term ageing ability. It has that lovely blackcurrent character that was present on the 2015 and we increased the barrel fermentation element to 47% which gives it a lovely texture and weight. I don’t want to sound like a broken record but as with all our vintage wines, time on cork is the key. We’ve been able to disgorge this wine 6 months prior to release but it has a long life ahead and will certainly reward patience.
This is our first ever September pre-release and once again as a supporter of H&H and member of the mailing list we are giving you the first and only opportunity to buy a case of this wine at your exclusive price, which we guarantee will never be beaten. £201.60/6btl case (£33.60 btl) a saving of £50.40 off normal release price of £252/case (£42 btl).
For those that would like to come up to the vineyard to get your case, the collection day will be on Sunday 4th September. If you wish to attend please select ‘collect from winery’ at checkout and we’ll send more details nearer the time. Alternatively you can select to deliver your wine for free beginning week of the 5th September.
